The difference between grants and donations
A grant is given to an organization for an agreed upon, specific purpose, while a donation is given with no required purpose. Both ways of giving have value. Organizations who work in their field of expertise every day often have more intimate knowledge on the best use of given funds, thus trusting them with using donations where most needed is a valid method of giving. However, awarding grants, (as we do here,) allows the giver(s) to know that their money is going to the exact purpose that they choose.
Both of these methods of giving have their benefits, and that is why we work cooperatively with local nonprofits serving in the areas of need we choose to support.
Who and what we give our grants to
Our focus is on supporting Christian nonprofits in Temple, TX who have a proven passion for sharing the gospel of Jesus while meeting the needs of the most vulnerable and marginalized in this community- those experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty.
Based on our collaboration with local nonprofits, our current grant funding will be focused on a program that directly provides accessible and sustainable income-making opportunities and any related needed training to those who are homeless or have unstable housing.
